The Beginning
Born from Bukidnon Soil
MUGNA began in 2021 in Malaybalay, Bukidnon — a city long known as a wellspring of Filipino craftsmanship. What started as a heirloom-minded craft has grown, piece by piece, into a name known for handmade leather bags.
It is a family affair. MUGNA is run by Evelyn V. Pagaling together with her sons, Christopher and Japhet, from their workshop in Violeta, Malaybalay City — where they also create honest work for artisans in their own community.
The name Mugna is a Bisaya word meaning “to create” or “to invent.” It speaks to the core of everything we do: intentional, handmade bags — each one a genuine-leather original, named and numbered, with no two alike.
